Thistle

Thistle

Thistle is a blend of her own looking very little like her mom but who is very beautiful with her silky black coat with golden markings. She was born to mama Taos who is a short legged, long bodied Terrier and possibly Dachshund mix. However, while Thistle inherited her mother's colors, she must have inherited her dad's body because she has longer legs and likely has some Hound and Doberman in her. She is already 45 lbs and is currently on track to be large once she finishes filling out. Thistle is in a foster home enjoying her foster siblings and making best friends. She loves other dogs and runs circles around them in the yard. When she runs she jumps over whatever is in the way landing as light as a feather. She loves to run in the yard and then comes on in and naps on her favorite bed. She is both crate and house trained with going to the door when she needs out. In her foster home you would never know that Thistle is a still a bit timid of new exposures in life. She can get started on her walks by loud cars, she will pull a bit then gets right back to her walk. New people at home can startle her a bit but with a minute or two in her crate and then intos with treats she adjusts very well. She bonds with her family and is very affectionate and loving. At night she will snuggle up for hugs and then finds her favorite bed to nap on. She sleeps all night in her crate and first thing in the morning does her business outside and then enjoys her breakfast. She is very food motivated so training her is rewarding. The ideal family for her would be someone who wants a dog who will be fun and playful but yet who can relax and chill. A calmer home with kids that are a bit older or a family who is retired and has time to commit to their dog. She would love a yard and possibly another dog in the home. She has also been around cats and done well but does try to get them to play with her so would likely do best in a home with already dog savvy kittie. She knows Sit, Down, and her name and is learning Stand and Stay. She can be crated for up to 5 hours at a time. She is working on a few manners such as not jumping up to say hello.

Thistle is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young pup. We require all puppy adopters to provide training that includes: house training, basic training, leash training, and socialization. Additionally, this cutie is going to need proper exercise, mental stimulation, and your attention and love to grow up to be the best companion. We do not allow our dogs or puppies to sleep or live outside; they must be incorporated into your family and be made a priority in your life. In return, you will have the most loving and loyal family member you could ask for. If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Thistle, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps.

Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at www.labsandmore.org. Your adoption donation provides funding for Labs and More, a nonprofit organization which is supported solely by Volunteers and funded by donations. Good news is your adoption donation can be considered tax deductible. So much care is provided to your new dog prior to the adoption, including: spay and neuter, microchip, veterinarian visit(s), vaccinations, and other medical care as needed. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog.
