Dex is a special boy with lots of love to give to the right patient and kind family! Dex is likely a Shepherd and Retriever mix, and he loves to play, explore, and snuggle up with his doggy roommates. He is shy with new people and can be a bit unsure of the big, scary world, but he is a lover who eagerly comes running when called and is very comfortable, confident and playful at home around the people he knows and loves. He has been around kids, cats, and other dogs. He respects the cat but will sometimes bark at him, and he likes to play with the big dogs in his foster home. While he was fine with the toddler he's met, he was a bit nervous, so he'd probably do best in a home with older children who understand dogs and can remain more calm. He likes an initial snuggle session with his humans, but then he politely moves to his own space. Dex enjoys swimming and playing with stuffed toys. He is housetrained, is crate trained, and is very food motivated. He would do best in a home with a playful dog buddy and a family with lots of patience and ready to continue his socialization.



Dex is looking for a family that understands the time, patience, and energy needed to raise a young pup. We require all puppy adopters to provide training that includes: house training, basic training, leash training, and socialization. Additionally, this cutie is going to need proper exercise, mental stimulation, and your attention and love to grow up to be the best companion. We do not allow our dogs or puppies to sleep or live outside; they must be incorporated into your family and be made a priority in your life. In return, you will have the most loving and loyal family member you could ask for.
